We don't actually know what the new content will be like beyond the first quarter of 2019, but hopefully DICE has some nice surprises in store for gamers. The post acknowledges that the team is constantly looking for new ways to enhance the game and add new ways to play the game. The team also referenced the Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace quote "You can't stop the change, any more than you can stop the suns from setting," which is the philosophy that DICE is utilizing for designing content for the multiplayer shooter.

Instead, DICE had to focus a lot of its attention for many months on completely overhauling the game's monetization system after the team had to remove the loot boxes following outrage from parents who petitioned Disney to have EA remove the premium loot boxes from the game.īut new characters, skins, and game modes aren't the only thing coming to Star Wars: Battlefront II in 2019. A lot of gamers assumed that the mode would return along with the Galactic Conquest mode, but those modes weren't available during the launch of the game back in 2017. I hope EA DICE expands them to the other eras in the game, and they have been teasing as much on Twitter and other social media. The original Space Battles mode was intense and required a lot of teamwork and a lot of skill to win the match. Currently, both modes are only available on Clone Wars-era maps with Clone Wars-era characters. As much as I’ve been looking forward to a large offline mode, I’ve actually been having more fun with Co-Op.īut they’re not perfect. Instead of going anywhere you want on the map, you’re always trying to push forward and capture a command post in front of you.īoth modes are a lot of fun and a huge breath of fresh air for the game. It’s a large-scale offline mode in which you and a team of AI-controlled characters try to capture command posts spread throughout the map while you’re battling computer-controlled opponents.Ĭo-Op is similar, although it is played online with three other people (can be friends or random people) and is more linear. I’m not usually a big fan of multiplayer shooters, so I’ve been hoping for more offline content to come to the game since it launched, and that’s exactly what Instant Action is.
